Privacy Policy
Lingomatia collects only the information needed to provide secure app sessions, language analysis, study progress, synchronization, subscriptions, and support. We do not sell personal information or use third-party advertising trackers.
Information we process
- A private Lingomatia profile identifier and one-way representations of recovery credentials used to secure and reconnect your settings and learning data. No name, email address, registration, or Lingomatia sign-in is required.
- Your interface language, learning language, saved vocabulary, practice history, and study progress.
- Text and images you intentionally submit for optical character recognition or linguistic analysis.
- Apple-signed app and purchase information, product identifiers, and entitlement status needed to reconnect your private profile and provide paid features. Lingomatia links the AppTransaction identifier using a keyed one-way digest rather than storing its raw value.
- Technical logs and error information needed to keep the service reliable and secure.
How information is used
Submitted learning content may be sent to service providers that perform AI analysis and dictionary lookup. Apple processes purchases and optional iCloud and Keychain synchronization under your Apple Account settings, and may provide signed app or transaction data used to restore learning data or subscription access. We use service providers only to operate the app, not for advertising.
Storage and retention
Learning records are stored on our servers and locally on your devices. If iCloud synchronization is enabled, local study data may also be stored in your private CloudKit database. We retain private profile, session, and learning information until you delete it or for as long as needed to provide the service. When you delete your Lingomatia profile, we remove its internal identifier, settings, submitted content, learning data, entitlement, and recovery credentials. We retain the keyed one-way AppTransaction digest as a deletion record so another device cannot silently recreate the profile. We may also retain limited transaction, security, fraud-prevention, or legal records when required.
Your choices
You can export or clear local study data in Data & Backup. Delete Learning Data in Settings removes associated server and local learning records while preserving your private Lingomatia profile, app session, and subscription entitlement. Delete Lingomatia Profile removes the profile and associated data described above. Lingomatia will not create another profile for that AppTransaction until you explicitly choose Start Fresh.
Start Fresh creates a new private profile and attaches the same one-way AppTransaction digest to it; deleted learning data is not restored. If you have an active purchase, Lingomatia verifies its signed transaction and securely associates it with the new profile. Deletion does not cancel App Store billing, which continues until you cancel it in your Apple Account settings.
Security and children
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and signed session tokens. No system is completely secure. Lingomatia is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required in their country, without appropriate parental authorization.
